Contact Tracing has taken center stage since the COVID-19 pandemic, but the profession has existed for decades. Contact tracers help protect people from dangerous diseases by warning people who may have been exposed to people already infected.
The primary responsibilities will include conducting phone calls with those diagnosed with an infectious disease, providing instructions on how to seek medical attention, warning those who may have been exposed, and providing information to prevent further infections.
Due to the pandemic, there are plans to hire 100,000 new Contact Tracers in the U.S.
