At Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations Technology, we are looking for a chapter leader to lead software engineers delivering next generation technology solutions. You will collaborate with other leaders to establish the standards for the chapter, influence the strategic decisions, deliver solutions, and directly manage a team of chapter members who primarily work within autonomous squads. You are dedicated to helping them grow and develop their knowledge and ensure alignment on the how of the work they perform. You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to bring the latest thinking to your role to empower others with that knowledge.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 12+ years of software engineering experience
  • Experience working in an agile delivery environment
  • Proven expertise and passion for delivering complex technology solutions and achieving results
  • Passionate about engineering excellence, innovation, and empowerment
  • Aptitude and eagerness to learn new domain
  • Experience in software development and deep understanding of the software life cycle stages
  • Expertise in leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing people and teams
  • Identifying and acquiring talent needs; and resource planning and talent allocation across large organizations ensuring chapter talent composition and workforce planning aligns with strategic business priorities
  • Financial services experience, preferred
  • Prior experience in Java, AWS, preferred
  • Proven, committed people leader capable of developing others with your deep technical and functional knowledge to accelerate and achieve increased skill proficiency
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships and relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Continuously improve and encourage an agile way of working
  • Intellectually curious and model a culture of continuous learning, mentoring, and coaching
  • Take a data-focused approach to decision making, in day-to-day leadership and strategic tradeoffs
  • Understand effective software delivery approaches including DevOps
  • Knowledge to design, develop and support stable, resilient and mission critical technology solutions

The Team

This Chapter Leader will work in partnership with Squad Leaders and other Chapter Leaders to build and support highly resilient platforms to perform corporate actions processing. By demonstrating and promoting Fidelity and agile leadership behaviors, you evolve and sustain our innovative, agile culture.
