DescriptionYour Opportunity As a Technical Writer (Internal Platform Docs) at New Relic, your words will help New Relic move faster, collaborate better, and shine a light on the best of what we build. Our Telemetry Data Platform group runs the platform on which our engineers build, deploy, and operate our products. You'll take their docs to the next level.We're looking for someone who loves docs, but also loves tinkering with technology. Are you a tech writer or an engineer who cares about great writing? Let's talk! We're a supportive, expert writing team with plenty of opportunities to grow (and to debate the finer points of style and usage).Opportunity to work from a remote office may be available depending on applicant location.What You'll DoWrite, edit, and architect our internal platform docs.Get to know your users. They won't be hard to find: your subject matter experts will also be your end-users. And partner with those teams to learn technologies like Kafka, Kubernetes, and PromQL!Clarify complexity. Bring order out of chaos with a solid understanding of information hierarchies and content strategy.Write brilliantly. Turn technobabble into language anyone can understand, and set a standard other teams can follow.Your QualificationsMust-have:3+ years of experience in a technical role at an agile software company, preferably on a data platform. You understand how modern stacks work, and how great docs and runbooks help teams move faster.Outstanding technical writing skills. You cut quickly through jargon, write and rewrite until your meaning is crystal-clear, and inject a bit of humanity too.An authority at organizing information in an easy-to-understand hierarchy who can transform the most complex ideas into simple ones.A strong opinion about the Oxford comma.Ability to juggle multiple areas of focus. (You'll be supporting several teams.
