In our Mechanical Engineer - REMOTE Tennessee role, you will serve as a responsible engineer / ownersengineer to support Black & Veatch with the growing local presence in the TVA service area to provide on-site engineering support for outages, troubleshooting and walkdowns. You'll use your experienceandstrong leadership capabilitiesto lead technical multidiscipline efforts and will be the primary technical interface with our clients.

This role is a REMOTEopportunity the requires the candidate live in Tennessee.This, along with Black & Veatch's 9/80 schedule, is one of the many ways we promote and encourage balance for our employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serves as Responsible Engineer - leading technical multidiscipline efforts, primary technical interface with client.
  • Serves as Owners Engineer - reviewing vendor documentation for compliance with technical specifications and client expectations.
  • Walkdown equipment at the client sites for replacement, upgrades and troubleshooting.
  • Support project installation and commissioning, collecting construction red-lines.
  • Attend Vendor equipment FATs.
  • Develop engineering change packages including: drawings, sketches, specifications, calculations and lists.
  • Travel to client project sites in the TVA service region (TN, AL, MS, KY)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with the design of Coal, combined cycle and/or simple cycle gas turbine generation facilities as well as balance of plant design of various power generation facilities .

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
  • Minimum of 5years related work experience.
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.


Certifications

  • Most positions - depending on the nature of work performed as defined by the division - will typically require incumbents to have professional registration or licensure in their designated home office country, or be in active pursuit* of such registration
