Overview: HVAC Specialist - Remote Monitoring

The Opportunity
Daikin North America is seeking a specialist with focus on increasing VRV sales by providing technical support and troubleshooting though D-Net remote monitoring system.If you meet the qualifications listed below, then we invite you to apply for our open position by visiting our website,and submitting your resume.

Responsibilities: May Include:

Setup-
  • Understanding the workings of D-Net technology through internal resources and self-study
  • Perform onsite and/or remote D-Net commissioning, assist with D-Net commissioning remotely or assist D-Net network configuration for jobsites. Advise on the set up of control systems and the commissioning of product including refrigerant charging, addressing, operational data and field settings
  • Maintain working relationship with customer stakeholders including, but not limited to- site owner, maintenance/service team etc., to provide complete satisfaction
Training-
  • Perform D-Net commissioning training for internal employees, and on-site for external sales partners
  • Train backup resources in all aspects of D-Net functionality and actions
  • In conjunction with the Field Support Manager, provide information and conduct training sessions pertaining to proper VRV installation techniques, VRV commissioning, controls commissioning and troubleshooting of Daikin indoor units, outdoor units, controls and accessories
  • Work with internal teams to learn of changes to equipment and assess their impact on the D-Net business. At the same time provide voice-of -customer inputs to improve D-Net functionality
Troubleshooting and Analysis-
  • Provide prompt and courteous response to calls coming to Daikin North Americas D-Net Control Center (DCC). In response to system notifications, troubleshoot operation data from D-Net monitoring and provide technical report to customer-
    • within 2 hours of error malfunction
    • within 8 hours of prediction malfunction
  • Create and review operation reports for D-Net sites. Coordinate with internal Tech Service resource and/or with oversea partner to create and distribute periodic reports to the customers within 7 working days of the end of reporting term
  • Visit critical jobsites and provide technical assistance. Collects and analyze system data from Daikin systems via Daikins proprietary Service Checker tool and provide solutions to customers
Sales support-
  • Provide progress with D-Net to management
  • Maintain monthly contact with D-Net site stakeholders to provide complete satisfaction
  • Help with creating technical literature to promote D-Net business. Participate in D-Net Sales promotion activities as a D-Net technical expert
  • Perform other related job duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree preferred, Associates Degree or HVAC Certificate required.
  • Minimum 6 years technical service experience within the HVAC industry
  • VRV/VRF experience highly desirable
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in teaching and coaching service technicians
  • Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification required
  • Prior experience with HVAC data analysis is a plus
  • Ability to apply knowledge of refrigeration and air conditioning theory and structural layout.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse client group
  • Demonstrated technical skills to explain product functionality to customers
  • Ability to present technical seminars for customers in conjunction with sales engineers
  • Proficient computer skills, such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to travel on business or work beyond normal work hours as necessary
