The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic self-starter with a desire to learn MUSC’s physician recruitment processes, and a willingness to collaborate within our team, as well as with external stakeholders to achieve shared goals. Previous recruitment experience is not required. MUSC’s Physician & Provider Recruitment Department is a highly visible in-house team that functions as a full cycle recruitment firm. The team is currently composed of 10 seasoned recruiters representing MUSC’s regional markets across the state, two sourcing strategists, one marketing strategist, three onboarding coordinators, a GME program manager, and an administrative support manager. The new Physician Recruitment Associate will report to the System Director for Physician Recruitment and will work in tandem with Charleston Region Physician Recruiters to fulfill the recruitment needs of MUSC’s College of Medicine, and MUSC Health Partners (MHP), the system’s group of primary and specialty care clinics located throughout the Charleston region. They will serve as support for the Charleston Region Recruiters, and will touch all aspects of the recruitment process, from the initiation of a search to sourcing, candidate screening and presentation, site visit planning and execution, and the extension of offers. Applicants should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as external stakeholders. This position is hybrid/partially remote, with some in-office and on-campus work required. Candidates must reside within the Charleston Tri-county area. What you’ll do: Support Charleston Region Recruiters with all aspects of assigned physician searches from initial approval through final negotiations, including: Departmental/Divisional stakeholder meetings Development of sourcing strategies Candidate screening and presentation Site visit planning, including: itineraries, scheduling and accommodations Site visit execution Extending offers and facilitating negotiations Collaborate with Charleston Region Recruiters and departmental or divisional stakeholders in the preparation of a comprehensive profile of new physician searches, including practice details, candidate parameters, and anticipated challenges/barriers to successful recruitment Work with Sourcing Strategists, Marketing Strategist, Recruiters, and departmental or divisional stakeholders to develop targeted candidate acquisition strategies, including estimated costs, for individual searches Assist Recruiters in screening and thoroughly vetting qualified candidates Work with Recruiters to facilitate on-site visits for candidates, including planning tours of campus and regional practices, making arrangements for significant others, and planning itineraries and travel arrangements as needed Opportunity to develop informational resources for candidates to inform them about MUSC, and the Charleston area Develop and maintain working knowledge of MUSC’s departments, divisions, and practices in the Charleston region as related to all aspects of the physician recruitment process Join Recruiters in consulting with and educating physician and administrative business partners regarding the physician recruitment process, market availability of candidates, compensation, specialty trends, etc. Comply with standardized recruitment processes, protocols, procedures and timelines Grow and maintain a departmental knowledge base that includes key information about the current health care recruitment climate, specialty training programs with contact information, current compensation trends by specialty, and candidate acquisition methodologies by specialty Contribute to, utilize and extract reports from the departmental recruitment database Learn the business operations and legal aspects of physician recruitment, including budgeting, Stark Laws, Fraud, and Abuse Statutes, etc. Additional Job Description Who you are: You’re highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and directives simultaneously while maintaining excellent documentation You’re collaborative, and can communicate your ideas in a team environment, helping to improve and streamline processes where you see opportunities to do so You have an eye for detail, and strive for quality in the projects you take on You care about improving healthcare for patients in South Carolina and beyond, and understand that achieving that goal starts with attracting high-quality physicians and providers to MUSC’s opportunities Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience Experience in healthcare is preferred Recruitment experience is not required Demonstrated experience collaborating and proactively communicating with stakeholders at many levels within an organization Ability to function independently (minimal direct supervision) yet work effectively with a team Relationship building skills, and the ability to liaise with senior and executive leadership Excellent written and verbal communication skills If you like working with energetic enthusiastic individuals, you will enjoy your career with us!
